Slewing and combined bearings

Slewing bearings function as a large load-bearing element between the rotating and stationary parts of a machine. They can simultaneously carry radial, axial, and tilting-moment loads, so selection depends on the geometry of the entire assembly, not just the mounting diameter.

Slewing assembly configuration

Designs vary in internal construction, mounting method, arrangement of the working elements, and integration with the rotation mechanism. For a specific project, mounting dimensions, fastener layout, and protection requirements for the working zone are all taken into account.

Loads and mounting system

  • Axial and radial loads.
  • Tilting moment.
  • Diameter and geometry of the supporting surface.
  • Layout and number of mounting points.
  • Stiffness of the mating structures.
  • Contamination and sealing conditions.
  • Speed and nature of the slewing motion.
