Technical review

We review causes based on facts.

To review an enquiry, OID needs data about the product, the batch and the operating conditions. A prepared set of materials helps carry out the technical review.

Prepare information about the product

  • Designation, marking and Batch/Lot number.
  • Origin documents and supplier information.
  • Installation and removal dates, operating hours and a description of the problem.
  • Photos of the assembly, the bearing, seals, fits and packaging.
  • Storage, installation and removal conditions.
  • Data on lubrication, temperature, loads and speed.
  • Photos of the raceways and rolling elements after removal, if disassembly has already been carried out.

Technical enquiry procedure

01 / Identification

Send the designation, batch number and supply documents.

02 / Source data

Describe the operating regime and attach inspection materials to your email.

03 / Analysis

Deviations confirmed by measurement and the assembly's operating conditions are reviewed.

04 / Next steps

The outcome is determined by the results of the technical review.

Operating conditions also affect the outcome

The review takes into account shaft and housing condition, alignment, fits, installation, lubrication, contamination, storage, preload, loads and electrical corrosion.

Identification and origin

To verify origin, prepare photos of the marking, individual packaging and batch number. If in doubt, send the materials to OID for verification.
