OID / ENGINEERING TOOLS

Equivalent load

Convert the radial and axial components into a load for the life calculation or the static check.

The specific bearing's data is entered manually.

01Task

Applies to all loads and load ratings in this form.

02Loads on one support

The reaction at this support, not the assembly's total load.

03Coefficients
°

Needed for the angular-contact branches and for the thrust ball bearing at α ≠ 90°.

OID / REFERENCE DATA
Methodology and limits of applicability

OID, ch. 5, §5.2; tables A and B

P = X·Fr + Y·Fa
P₀ = max(X₀·Fr + Y₀·Fa; Fr)

Input coefficients and requirements must correspond to the specific construction and duty. Missing values are never substituted automatically.

The life, static-safety and minimum-load checks are independent. Slewing bearings, linear systems, plain bearings and small oscillation angles need an applicable specialized model.

What limits this calculation:

  • X / Y / e tables for radial ball, self-aligning ball and thrust bearings at 45° ≤ α < 90° — such coefficients are entered manually
